Country Grits Recipe:

*made at cooking club*

Makes 4 servings.


Ingredients:

2 cups water

1 1/4 cups milk

1 tsp salt

1 cup quick cooking grits (not instant)

1/4 cup (half stick) butter


Directions:

1. In a small pot, bring the water, milk, and salt to a boil.

2. Once that mixture is boiling, slowly stir in the grits.

3. Stir continuously and throughly until the grits are well mixed.

4. Bring the mixture back to a boil. Cover with a lid, lower the temperature, and cook for about 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. 

5. They are done when the consistency is of smooth cream of wheat.

6. Stir in the butter and serve.
